Winter 2012/2013

Winter update from Clacton Sailing Club.

We come to the end of another sailing season after having a poor summer. We are now looking at putting together next year’s calendar in the hopes of better weather. But remember we still will have social events.

Sailing ideas for the new calendar.

There will be more opportunities to sail as the cadets will again be offered Tuesday evenings to sail. As safety cover will be proved others will be able to sail if in our area.

On Saturdays if requested we will provide safety cover for people to sail but we would need a week or so notice. If a Saturday is booked then we would email all members as to the event.

On the Saturdays that no sailing is booked, Derek will be at the club doing maintenance so I will be around.

As we had great Success with “Push the boat out” in July we would look to repeat this next year.

This year we will try again an idea that we did this year. On the Summer solstice we will have a sailing event starting out on the water at 5:30am and coming in for a cooked breakfast around 9am (there is a bad tide for normal sailing times).

We have again invited Northampton Sailing Club down for a weekend, they will use the time to improve their sea sailing skills as they are a reservoir club.

Social ideas for the new calendar.

One Sunday when the tide is against us sailing. We would have an organised walk ending in a lunch. We will look to have adventurous menus from time to time. These may need booking so look for notices but those who have given email addresses will get an email notifying them. If we have a “barbecue summer” then with will have one ourselves.
