Regatta Update

The sun was shining with a wind force 4 from the South West.

The Regatta was originally going to be two races, the one in the morning (C.U.D.C.) then lunch followed by the R.L.N.I pennant race.

The first race got off to a good start, the sun was shining with a wind force 4 from the South West.

The open race saw a varied fleet from Toppers to a Dart Hawk.
There were a number of capsizes but luckily all before the race started. It was all over very quickly due to the good wind, although the Darts were first over the finish line their handicap pushed them back in the table. So the actual winner was Ken Potts with his RS600, with John Tappenden second on his Blaze, and in third place Martin Chivers on his Dart 18.

The cadets were led by Conor and Finlay Williams on a Hobie 405, second was Robert Gutterage on a Topper with third being Aaron Baker on a Topaz.

The main result was every one had a good time.

People then had a good lunch and socialised but then noticed that the boats were taking a beating on the beach so they all made a run for home with the second race abandoned with force 6/7 winds.
